Parking Enforcement
Parking lots at Washington Park are monitored daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Vehicles occupying a parking space for longer than 15 minutes are required to have an active parking payment or permit. Failure to submit payment may result in a parking citation. Unpaid parking citations are forwarded to a collection agency if not paid within 45 days of issuance.

How to get an Annual Permit (“Sticker”)

Please bring your current vehicle registration card (the temporary, 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper copy will not be accepted). If you live outside of the civil city limits, but own property within the civil city limits, please bring your current vehicle registration card and a utility bill or tax bill with the address of the property you own. The name on the vehicle registration must match the name on the tax or utility bill.

Annual Permit (“Sticker”) Policy

Michigan City offers seasonal parking permits (“stickers”) that provide access to Washington Park during the park season.

Annual Permit Policy:

  • Must Register for annual permit with Park & Recreation Department

  • Permits are non-transferable and non-refundable

  • Annual permits are now linked to your license plate number.

  • One permit per license plate.

  • Permit does not guarantee parking space on peak days
