About These Facilities

Washington Park offers a variety of reservable shelters ideal for picnics, birthday parties, family reunions, and group gatherings. Each shelter offers a unique atmosphere while providing convenient access to the park’s beaches, trails, playgrounds, and other recreational amenities. Whether you’re hosting a casual cookout or a special celebration, Washington Park’s shelter rentals provide the perfect setting near the beach.

Shelters can be reserved between May and September. All rentals include picnic tables and nearby access to restrooms, parking, and green space. To reserve one of our shelters, a rental agreement must be filled out and submitted to the Parks Office.

  • Important Notes:
    All shelter reservations are first-come, first-served.
  • Rentals are available seasonally (May–September).
  • Alcohol, amplified music, and other activities may require a special use permit.
  • Cleanup is the responsibility of the renter.

Tennis Shelter

The largest shelter, ideal for reunions, company picnics, and birthday parties. Located near the Splash Park and zoo.

  • Capacity: ~40–50 people

  • Amenities: 2 large T-shape picnic tables, 1 serving picnic table, electric (upon request), grill, playground access

  • Best for: Large family events, church groups, school outings

F.O.P. Shelter

Smaller shelter near the main entrance and Rock Garden.

  • Capacity: ~12–16 people

  • Amenities: Picnic tables, grill area, electric (upon request), playground access

  • Best for: Family reunions, kids’ parties, casual events

St. Anthony Shelter

Smaller shelter near the main entrance and Rock Garden.

  • Capacity: ~12–16 people

  • Amenities: Picnic tables, grill area, electric (upon request), playground access

  • Best for: Birthday parties, baby showers, family gatherings

Miller Davis Shelter

Smaller Shelter located in Fedder’s Alley area, near Guy Foreman Amphitheater.

  • Capacity: ~12-16 people

  • Amenities: Picnic tables, grill area, electric (upon request), playground access

  • Best for: Family events, birthday parties, school gatherings

Exchange Club Shelter

Smaller shelter located near Fedder’s Alley parking lot and Fedder’s Alley playground.

  • Capacity: ~12-16 people

  • Amenities: Picnic tables, grill area, playground access

  • Best for: Day-long gatherings, organizational events
